What is UPI

Unified Payments Interface (UPI) is an instant payment system developed by the National Payments Corporation of India, The interface facilitates inter-bank peer-to-peer and person-to-merchant transactions, UPI payments, where the account holder uses his mobile number and Aadhaar number, have become a favorite among the Indian youth.

The customer should register his mobile number with the bank, Recipient’s UPI ID can be used to transfer money, It is used on mobile devices to transfer funds instantly between two bank accounts, Payment through UPI ID is considered as one of the most successful payment systems in the world.

What is UPI PIN

The UPI PIN number is the password that the user must provide to authenticate the transaction through UPI, You first need to generate a password called UPI PIN to send or receive money through UPI systems, It is a unique 4 or 6 digit passcode which the user can create as per his choice.

When you register Phonepe or Google Pay and other mobile banking apps you will be asked to set a UPI PIN, You can create UPI PIN in mobile payment app, you can also change UPI PIN or reset UPI PIN very easily, Here we will tell you how you can reset your UPI PIN through Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm applications.

How to Change BHIM UPI PIN

  1. First open BHIM App on your phone.
  2. Tap on Bank Account at the top of the screen page.
  3. On the newly opened page click on Forgot UPI PIN.
  4. Now enter the last 6 digits of your bank debit card and the expiry date in MMYY format.
  5. Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number.
  6. Now you can enter the new UPI PIN.
  7. You enter the new UPI PIN again and then submit.
  8. Your UPI PIN is now reset and you can transact with the new PIN number on UPI apps.

How to Reset PhonePe UPI PIN

  1. First open your Mobile lo Phonepe app.
  2. Tap on your profile picture at the top of the PhonePe app home page.
  3. On the next page select Forgot UPI PIN Bank under Bank Accounts section.
  4. Tap to reset UPI PIN.
  5. Enter your last 6 digits of your bank debit card number and expiry date and tap on continue button.
  6. Now enter your new UPI PIN.
  7. Enter your new UPI PIN again and submit.
  8. Now your PhonePe new pin number is created.

How to Reset Google Pay UP PIN

  1. First open the Google Pay app on your phone.
  2. Tap on your name to open settings on profile page.
  3. Now tap on Bank Account option from the menu list.
  4. Select the bank account name for which you want to reset UPI PIN.
  5. Click on Forgot your UPI PIN below the bank name.
  6. Enter your last 6 digits of your bank debit card number and expiry date and tap on continue button.
  7. Now enter your new UPI PIN.
  8. Enter your new UPI PIN again and submit.
  9. Once a new Google Pay UPI PIN is created you can continue your GPay.

How to Change your UPI PIN using Paytm

  1. Open Paytm App on your mobile phone.
  2. Tap on profile on Paytm home page.
  3. Select UPI and payment setting option.
  4. Select the bank account for which you want to change UPI PIN in Paytm.
  5. Now tap on UPI PIN Reset PIN button.
  6. Enter the last 6 numbers of your bank debit card and also enter the expiry date and tap on continue.
  7. And enter the new Paytm UPI PIN.
  8. After that enter the new Paytm UPI PIN again.
  9. Your new Paytm UPI PIN will be converted successfully and it can be used for any and every transaction through Paytm application.
  1. What if my UPI pin is incorrect?

    Incorrect PIN entries will result in the transaction failing. You can reset your UPI PIN if this is the situation. Go to your UPI profile on the app you're using, press the “Forgot UPI PIN” option, then enter a new PIN to reset the UPI PIN.

  2. How do I reset my UPI account?

    Open the menu by tapping the icon in the upper right corner of the screen. Your bank will provide you with an OTP. In the following screen, input the OTP obtained from your bank as well as the new UPI Pin you want to set for the account, and then click submit.

  3. What is the 6 digit UPI pin?

    A UPI PIN is a four or six-digit code or password that must be set for each bank account in order to enable UPI payments on any app. Any UPI payments you desire to make will require you to input your UPI PIN on the PhonePe app.
